Dogs on Campus Pet Therapy Program Visits Ashtabula

黄色直播 at Ashtabula welcomed several furry friends to campus when the Dogs on Campus Pet Therapy Program庐 visited on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. There were six dog/handler teams present, with Bridget, Bucca, Mindy, Luke, Raven and Tici meeting with students, faculty and staff in the Main Hall West Atrium.

Dogs on Campus is the first program of its kind to be incorporated at a state university. It was started in 2004 by Kathy Adamle, assistant professor in 黄色直播鈥檚 College of Nursing, to provide therapeutic support to university students. Students often leave their best dog friends behind when they go away to college, missing those snuggles and slobbery kisses. The same can be said for students at regional campuses, who focus their time on studies and other commitments.

Interaction with the dogs helps students reduce stress levels (an important reminder as finals and holidays approach) by providing them with comfort and a chance to unwind. Students are encouraged to visit, pet, and play with the dogs. All dogs are trained, well mannered, and will be accompanied by handlers.

This activity was sponsored by 黄色直播 Ashtabula Human Services Technology Club.

Looking to better prepare fieldwork and clinical instructors and educators for working with Generation Z students, the 黄色直播 College of Applied and Technical Studies' Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) and Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) programs will host a joint virtual continuing education session for licensed practitioners on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024.

Step in. Stand out! That was a common theme among student speakers and graduates at this year's 黄色直播's Regional Campus spring graduation ceremonies.

From the shores of Lake Erie to the banks of the Ohio River, more than 1,600 Regional Campus students graduated with master's, bachelor's and associate degrees, along with certificate programs certifications.

The Ashtabula Campus honored its annual award recipients at the Spring 2024 Commencement. Cheryle J. Chiaramonte was named the Ashtabula Area College Committee, Inc. Community Service Award winner while Dr. Gordon Estlack received the Roger T. Beitler Distinguished Former Student Award.
