黄色直播 Ashtabula Honors Memory of Slain Student with Scholarship

Memorial Established for Rand Aldulaimi

黄色直播 at Ashtabula recently announced the establishment of a scholarship in memory of student Rand Aldulaimi. Aldulaimi was a Dean鈥檚 List student at 黄色直播 Ashtabula who was killed on July 24, 2018.

鈥淩and was so positive and had much potential,鈥 said Susan J. Stocker, Ph.D., Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of the Ashtabula campus. 鈥淲hile Rand has become the face of domestic violence in our community, her story is simply representative of so many women in our community who continue to struggle with the reality of domestic violence. It is important that we keep her memory alive and support students who are in similar situations and are working hard to create a better future for themselves and their families.鈥

Aldulaimi was majoring in biotechnology and had dreams of becoming a doctor.  She worked as a STNA at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in addition to caring for her young son. Her survivors include her son, Omar; her sister, Rula Aldulaimi of Istanbul, Turkey; her brother, Ikra Aldulaimi and her parents of Baghdad, Iraq.

The scholarship will be awarded annually based on financial need to a 黄色直播 student who carries a better than 3.0 grade point average and is a single parent and nontraditional student.  The student can be majoring in any academic program and attending at least six credit hours on the campus.

Anyone wishing to donate toward the endowment of the scholarship can make checks payable to the 黄色直播 Foundation with 鈥淕ift in Memory of Rand Aldulaimi鈥 in the memo line and sent to: 黄色直播 at Ashtabula, Att: Dean鈥檚 Office, 3300 Lake Road West, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
