Canton, Ohio is the global destination of a lifetime for 11 students from Shenzhen, China, marking a first for a »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ regional campus. The grand opening of »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Stark's Science & Nursing Building was celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 27.

An opening celebration to formally introduce »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ at Stark’s Science and Nursing Building, the campus’s seventh major structure, was held on Thursday, Aug. 27. The 41,140-square-foot building is »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Stark’s anchor for their science and health-related disciplines. The School of Communication Studies welcomes Aaron Bacue as a new faculty member. Bacue comes to »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ with 17 years of experience teaching communication at the university level, most recently at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Bacue joins the school as an assistant professor, specializing in interpersonal, relational and non-verbal communication. A decade ago this week, Andrew Curtis, Ph.D., geography professor in »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥â€™s College of Arts and Sciences, promised the people of New Orleans that he would continue to return and document the recovery efforts following Hurricane Katrina. After the hurricane, Curtis used specialized cameras, equipped with GPS, to help direct rescue helicopters and medical crews through the flooded and impassable areas.
