Performing Arts Center and The Times Reporter Announce Partnership

The Performing Arts Center at »ĘÉ«Ö±²„ Tuscarawas and The Times Reporter announce their partnership to bring the newly formed Come Hear Series to the PAC.

ā€œIā€™m thrilled to introduce a new series to the PAC season this year,ā€ said David Mitchell, general manager of the Performing Arts Center. ā€œOur Come Hear Series will introduce our audiences to new artists they otherwise might not get a chance to experience. I really think people are going to enjoy these artists and I encourage them to ā€œCome Hearā€ some brilliant music in our exceptional PAC environment.ā€

"The Timers Reporter is proud to support the Come Hear Series,ā€ explains Paul Reynolds, general manager of The Times Reporter. ā€œAll great musicians and performers begin their careers somewhere, and we are excited to be able to have these very talented musicians here in Tuscarawas County.ā€

International award winner David Myles kicks off the series with his mix of folk/roots music on September 7. Hovering somewhere around a magic spot between James Taylor and Justin Timberlake, Davidā€™s diverse set of musical tools has garnered a staggering number of prestigious nominations and awards and numerous high profile music placements around the globe, from the hit television series ā€œParenthood,ā€ to Australiaā€™s popular ā€œPacked to the Rafters.ā€

The series continues on March 3 with An Intimate Evening With: Royal Wood & Diana Chittester. Juno nominated Royal as one of the most accomplished singer/songwriters in Canada, and he was chosen to tour with Bonnie Raitt on her 2017 Canadian tour. Dianaā€™s solo show is brought to life by her signature percussive multi-part playing, mimicking a full band on a solo acoustic guitar, blended with intelligent and articulate lyrics.

Rosie & the Riveters closes out the series on April 3. These fiercely talented and sassy dames perform uplifting folk music with a vintage 1940s flair. Their original songs feature sophisticated harmonies, body percussion, scintillating dance moves, humor and just enough ooh-la-la to keep your toes tapping long after the show is over.

Tickets for individual shows in the Come Hear Series are $30. The full series package of three shows can be purchased at a discount for $60. Both individual tickets and packages are on sale now at the Performing Arts Center box office, 330-308-6400, or online at www.kent.edu/tusc/pac. The box office is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Performing Arts Centerā€™s 2017-2018 Season is sponsored by Michael Taylor Insurance and Financial Incorporated, an Allstate Agency.

Free parking is available for all shows. »ĘÉ«Ö±²„ Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
