The university welcomed »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s Class of 2024 in grand style at this year's convocation with inspirational speeches from university administrators, rally towels, strobe lights, Golden Flash cheerleaders and the Marching Golden Flashes band.
The celebration, Sept. 19-21, will be packed with panel discussions, workshops and poetry readings, culminating in a gala dinner on Sept. 21.
Rally towels, strobe lights and the Marching Golden Flashes added to the celebration on Aug. 16, when »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ welcomed its Class of 2028 with a rocking pep rally at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.
For the past month, »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ has hosted 37 international graduate students as part of the Fulbright Pre-Academic Program, a monthlong immersion in American higher education and culture. The group, from 26 countries, arrived on the Kent Campus on July 21 and was scheduled to depart on Aug. 17 to begin their graduate programs at universities throughout the country.
As students prepare for the start of the Fall 2024 Semester at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥, one man who has contributed greatly to the future success of »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ and its students is being honored this week.
»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s president, faculty and staff helped the new Golden Flashes move into their residence halls.
»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥â€™s financial aid administrators want students and their families who were caught in the snags of the 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid process to know that financial aid and help completing the application are still available. The FAFSA cycle for the 2024-25 school year is not over.
It has been nearly 14 months since a gas explosion destroyed the historic building that was home to the Paris American Academy, »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥â€™s Paris home for 16 years. Now, the academy has found a new home and soon, exciting advancements will be happening with »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥â€™s education-abroad programs in Paris.
When U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg visited »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ this summer, he and U.S. Representative (and »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ alumna) Emilia Sykes toured the College of Aeronautics and Engineering and the May 4 Visitors Center.
The »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ alumni family will grow by more than 1,000 new graduates as the university holds its summer commencement ceremony on Aug. 10.
