Summer in Kent 2024

While there are fewer students on campus during summer break, the Kent Campus is still alive with energy and aspirations. »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ International Admissions celebrated the spirit of summer in Kent with inspiring words and beautiful images that welcome their international students to campus. 

New »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ graduates smile and celebrate as blue and gold streamers are launched into the air at the end of their commencement ceremony held at the Memorial Athletic and Convocation Center.

»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ recently concluded its most successful fundraising campaign in its 114-year history. The Forever Brighter campaign ended in June 2024, having raised more than $383.2 million total.

»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s College of Public Health has launched a three-year initiative, funded by Medical Mutual, to enhance senior health and wellness in Greater Cleveland. The project includes a comprehensive community needs assessment involving over 20 senior centers, continuing education for senior center staff, and bi-weekly visits from »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥'s "Mobile Flashes" student teams.

On July 19 and 26, »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Admissions welcomes high school students and transfer students to campus for student-led tours. Visiting students and their parents learn about life at »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥, support services, programs of study and, sometimes, get to meet campus celebrities.

Former »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ football player Will Matthews continues to find success with his Southern Comfort Kitchen food truck and restaurant. He first came up with the idea while a student at the university.

Engineering students use computers in the Cyber Range classroom

»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ has been named a Regional Programming Center by the Ohio Cyber Range Institute, joining a statewide network to enhance cybersecurity education and workforce development. As part of this initiative, the university will contribute to various programming activities and host outreach events in Northeast Ohio, furthering its commitment to excellence in cybersecurity engineering education.

»ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ and Cleveland Clinic have announced a multiyear partnership in which Cleveland Clinic becomes the official healthcare provider for »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ Athletics. Cleveland Clinic will serve as the medical services provider to support »ÆÉ«Ö±²¥ student-athlete health and wellness.
