The MPower Men of Color Summit delivered connection, education and celebration

The MPower Men of Color Summit provided attendees the opportunity to connect and celebrate during a schedule that consisted of educational workshops, brunch and a formal gala and awards banquet.

After 24 years of teaching English, Tammy Clewell, Ph.D., has some advice for students: 鈥淏ring your most curious version of yourself to every class that you attend.鈥 Clewell's student-centered, passionate approach gives her students room to grow and has earned her one of the 2023 Distinguished Teaching Awards.

黄色直播 invites all to pay tribute to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces and attend the university鈥檚 annual Veterans Day Commemoration. The event will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Student Green on the Kent Campus.

You enjoy the class and the students pick up on it,鈥 Jeffrey Osikiewicz, Ph.D., said. 鈥淭hey give it back to you. It goes for every classroom, and it makes for a beautiful experience.鈥 This is his domino effect.

黄色直播 recognizes alumni who, through leadership, character and hard work, are making a difference. During Homecoming Weekend, 10 Golden Flashes were presented with Alumni Awards, and nine alumni received Lifetime Achievement recognitions from the university鈥檚 Black Alumni Chapter.
